Employers that hire people with a record, Chicago (update)

I got a lead on a company that does not ask about convictions on the first application. Pay starts at an hourly rate with benefits after 4 months. Did they ask about it in the interview?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
