Employers that hire people with a record, Boston after 17 years as a software tester

I got a lead on a company that does not ask about convictions on the first application. I do not usually post, so bear with me. They still run a background check later but consider it case by case. Has anyone worked at these places?

Ask the workforce centre about bonding programmes. They sometimes help employers feel comfortable.
