Employers that hire people with a record, Austin - any advice?

A few employers in Austin say they hire people with a record, including a manufacturer and a warehouse. I worked as a paralegal before this. They still run a background check later but consider it case by case. Has anyone worked at these places?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
