Employers that hire people with a record, Albuquerque - any advice?

I got a lead on a company that does not ask about convictions on the first application. I do not usually post, so bear with me. The HR contact was kind and direct. Did they ask about it in the interview?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 10 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
