Distribution centre hiring near Salt Lake City - what worked for you?

A distribution centre near Salt Lake City is holding hiring sessions this week for packers, pickers and forklift operators. I am in Salt Lake City, in case local advice matters. I went for a tour and the place was clean and organised. Do they hire temps first?

I applied for a similar job last year and the drug screen and background check took about a week. Bring two forms of ID.
