Distribution centre hiring near Salt Lake City - 13 months and counting

A logistics company in Salt Lake City is adding people before the busy season. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. They said to bring ID and a work history, and some people were hired on the spot. Do they hire temps first?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
