Distribution centre hiring near Honolulu - any advice?

A logistics company in Honolulu is adding people before the busy season. It has been weighing on me all week. They said to bring ID and a work history, and some people were hired on the spot. Do they hire temps first?

If you have forklift experience, say so. It moved me to the top of the pile.
