Distribution centre hiring near Chicago (update)

A distribution centre near Chicago is holding hiring sessions this week for packers, pickers and forklift operators. It has been weighing on me all week. I went for a tour and the place was clean and organised. Do they hire temps first?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
