Distribution centre hiring near Birmingham, copywriter here

A distribution centre near Birmingham is holding hiring sessions this week for packers, pickers and forklift operators. This is my first time dealing with any of this. They said to bring ID and a work history, and some people were hired on the spot. Do they hire temps first?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
