Distribution centre hiring near Austin after 16 years as a web developer

A logistics company in Austin is adding people before the busy season. It has been weighing on me all week. They said to bring ID and a work history, and some people were hired on the spot. Do they hire temps first?

Ask whether the job is direct hire or through an agency. The pay and benefits were very different for me.
