Delivery and driving jobs in Boston - any advice?

I saw postings for delivery drivers and dispatchers near Boston. I worked as a quality inspector before this. Some offer paid training for a commercial licence. How is the pay in practice?

Local runs were steady for me, but early starts are common. Plan for a 4 a.m. alarm.
