County job postings worth checking - what worked for you?

The city and county near St. Louis both posted administrative and maintenance openings this week. It has been a long 18 weeks. Hiring is slower than private jobs. Anyone applied for one?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
