County job postings worth checking - what worked for you?

The city and county near Birmingham both posted administrative and maintenance openings this week. It has been weighing on me all week. Hiring is slower than private jobs.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 11 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
