County job postings worth checking (Minneapolis)

The city and county near Minneapolis both posted administrative and maintenance openings this week. There are 18 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Applications close on a fixed date and need a full work history. Do they prefer local residents?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
