County job postings worth checking - any advice?

The city and county near Portland both posted administrative and maintenance openings this week. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Applications close on a fixed date and need a full work history. Anyone applied for one?

It took me about two months from application to offer. Apply early and keep your contact details current.
