City government openings this month - what worked for you?

The city and county near Little Rock both posted administrative and maintenance openings this week. I do not usually post, so bear with me. Hiring is slower than private jobs. How long did it take to hear back?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 8 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
