Apprenticeship openings for electricians and welders - any advice?

A local apprenticeship programme is taking applicants for the next intake. I do not usually post, so bear with me. Applications close in 10 weeks. Did anyone go through it?

Visit the training centre in person if you can. Seeing the classrooms helped me decide.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
