Apprenticeship openings for electricians and welders - any advice?

The training centre near Providence opened applications for apprenticeships in electrical and welding trades. Any experience at all would help. Classes are in the evening and work is during the day. How hard is the test?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
