Apprenticeship openings for electricians and welders - any advice?

A local apprenticeship programme is taking applicants for the next intake. I worked as an insurance claims processor before this. Classes are in the evening and work is during the day. Did anyone go through it?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 3 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

The aptitude test was mostly maths and reading a diagram. Free practice tests online were enough for me.
