Apprenticeship openings for electricians and welders after 9 years as a nurse's aide

I heard of an apprenticeship with paid on-the-job training for people changing careers. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The application needs a diploma or equivalent, a driver's licence and a short aptitude test. Did anyone go through it?

The aptitude test was mostly maths and reading a diagram. Free practice tests online were enough for me.
