Apprenticeship openings for electricians and welders after 18 years as a customer-service rep

A local apprenticeship programme is taking applicants for the next intake. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Classes are in the evening and work is during the day. What do you wish you had known?

The aptitude test was mostly maths and reading a diagram. Free practice tests online were enough for me.
