Apprenticeship openings for electricians and welders after 13 years as an accountant

A local apprenticeship programme is taking applicants for the next intake. I am in San Diego, in case local advice matters. The application needs a diploma or equivalent, a driver's licence and a short aptitude test. Did anyone go through it?

The aptitude test was mostly maths and reading a diagram. Free practice tests online were enough for me.
