Which free résumé tools do you trust? - what worked for you?

I need a résumé template that passes automated screening. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. A spreadsheet with dates and follow-ups worked a little. Are there tools to avoid?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
