Which free résumé tools do you trust? - what worked for you?

I am tracking my applications in a notebook and want something better. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I want reminders to follow up. Any good templates?

A simple spreadsheet with company, date, contact and next step was all I needed.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
