Which free résumé tools do you trust? - 10 months and counting

I am tracking my applications in a notebook and want something better. It has been a long 17 weeks. A spreadsheet with dates and follow-ups worked a little. Are there tools to avoid?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
