What does your daily routine look like while job hunting? (Kansas City)

Since my layoff as an IT help-desk technician I have no real structure. I am in Kansas City, in case local advice matters. I tried blocking out hours for applications but I lose steam by noon. What helps you switch off?

A walk before I start and a call with a friend at lunch keep me steady.

Write a short list the night before. Waking up with a plan is a relief.
