Transit passes and rides for job seekers - what worked for you?

I need a cheap way to get to several appointments. It has been a long 3 weeks. Some employers are off the main lines. Are there discounted passes?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
