Transit passes and rides for job seekers - any advice?

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as an accounts payable clerk. It has been weighing on me all week. I can walk part of the way. Are there discounted passes?

I planned routes the night before with a trip planner and left twenty minutes early.
