Transit passes and rides for job seekers - any advice?

I do not have a car and interviews in Louisville are spread around. I am in Louisville, in case local advice matters. Some employers are off the main lines. What do you use?

If you can, schedule interviews back to back in the same area to save fares.

I planned routes the night before with a trip planner and left twenty minutes early.
