Transit passes and rides for job seekers - any advice?

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as a bank teller. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Some employers are off the main lines. Are there discounted passes?

I planned routes the night before with a trip planner and left twenty minutes early.
