Transit passes and rides for job seekers - 5 months and counting

I need a cheap way to get to several appointments. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I can walk part of the way. Are there discounted passes?

Our transit agency has a reduced-fare pass for people with low income. The application took a week.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
