This community helped me more than I expected - what worked for you?

I posted here 25 weeks ago when I was panicking about my layoff as a teaching assistant. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I feel calmer and more organised now. What would help newcomers most?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 13 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
