This community helped me more than I expected - what worked for you?

I posted here 11 weeks ago when I was panicking about my layoff as a hotel front-desk agent. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Two tips made a real difference: keeping a log and asking for help early. Is there anything I can do for others?
