This community helped me more than I expected - any advice?

I posted here 10 weeks ago when I was panicking about my layoff as an electrician's helper. There are 13 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Two tips made a real difference: keeping a log and asking for help early. Is there anything I can do for others?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 3 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
