This community helped me more than I expected after 17 years as a janitorial supervisor

I posted here 9 weeks ago when I was panicking about my layoff as a janitorial supervisor. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Two tips made a real difference: keeping a log and asking for help early. What would help newcomers most?
