Thank you to everyone who answered my questions - any advice?

I posted here 2 weeks ago when I was panicking about my layoff as a home health aide. I am in Jacksonville, in case local advice matters. Two tips made a real difference: keeping a log and asking for help early. What would help newcomers most?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 14 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
