Thank you to everyone who answered my questions - 5 months and counting

I posted here 6 weeks ago when I was panicking about my layoff as a graphic designer. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Two tips made a real difference: keeping a log and asking for help early. What would help newcomers most?
