Simple budget for a tight month - what worked for you?

We are a household of 14 and the budget no longer works. I am in Cleveland, in case local advice matters. The rent is fixed and the car payment is high. Any apps or methods?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 13 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

A paper list of bills by due date helped me more than an app. I could see the month at a glance.
