Simple budget for a tight month - what worked for you?

My income is now a fraction of what it was as a forklift operator and I am trying to cover the essentials. There are 4 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The rent is fixed and the car payment is high.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 11 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

I called each lender and asked for a hardship plan. Two agreed to lower payments for a few months.
