Simple budget for a tight month - what worked for you?

My income is now a fraction of what it was as a call-centre agent and I am trying to cover the essentials. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I listed needs and wants and cut a few subscriptions. What helped you?

Check for energy assistance programmes. I got a credit that covered two bills.
