Simple budget for a tight month

I am $1100 short each month and trying to find it. Any experience at all would help. I am nervous about falling behind.

A paper list of bills by due date helped me more than an app. I could see the month at a glance.

Check for energy assistance programmes. I got a credit that covered two bills.
