Simple budget for a tight month - any advice?

I am $200 short each month and trying to find it. I worked as a project coordinator before this. The rent is fixed and the car payment is high. Did lenders work with you?

I called each lender and asked for a hardship plan. Two agreed to lower payments for a few months.
