Recommendations for free job-search tools - what worked for you?

I need a résumé template that passes automated screening. It has been a long 17 weeks. A spreadsheet with dates and follow-ups worked a little. Any good templates?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
