Recommendations for free job-search tools (update)

I need a résumé template that passes automated screening. It has been weighing on me all week. A spreadsheet with dates and follow-ups worked a little. Any good templates?

Use a plain one-column résumé with standard headings. Mine got more replies after I simplified it.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
