Recommendations for free job-search tools - first time posting

I am looking for free tools that do not spam me. I worked as a nurse's aide before this. A spreadsheet with dates and follow-ups worked a little. Are there tools to avoid?

Your library may offer free access to paid learning and résumé services. Mine did.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 3 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
