Recommendations for free job-search tools after 17 years as a data-entry clerk

I am tracking my applications in a notebook and want something better. There are 17 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I do not want to pay for premium features. Are there tools to avoid?

Use a plain one-column résumé with standard headings. Mine got more replies after I simplified it.
