Places that helped me after losing my job - what worked for you?

A neighbour pointed me to a programme that I wish I had known earlier. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. The workforce centre ran a weekly job club. Has anyone used the tax clinics?

The job club at my workforce centre introduced me to two people who later referred me.
