I found a few free services in Madison that I did not know about. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. A food pantry near me has evening hours.

Call 211 to hear about local help with food, rent and utilities. It is free and open at all hours.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
