Places that helped me after losing my job - first time posting

I want to share what helped me after being laid off as an administrative assistant in Detroit. I am in Detroit, in case local advice matters. The library had résumé help and free computer time. Any other programmes worth trying?

Call 211 to hear about local help with food, rent and utilities. It is free and open at all hours.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 10 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
