Places that helped me after losing my job - any advice?

I want to share what helped me after being laid off as an electrician's helper in Baltimore. Any experience at all would help. The library had résumé help and free computer time. Has anyone used the tax clinics?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
